"UNFIT: Ward vs Ward"

When I say this project could not have been done without Walter Collins, I mean it. When we approached Walter about joining us as editor on our documentary UNFIT: Ward vs. Ward I dont think any of us knew just how long we would be together on this roller coaster. Yet Walter was there through the end. He knew this was more than just a film, it was about righting a wrong and he really became a voice for the woman who this documentary was about. He brought more than just his editing skills to the project. He brought thoughtful ideas, new approaches and insight, a passion for truth and justice, and a wealth of past experience. I am proud to say that there is so much of Walter in the final project and his stamp is on this film in so many ways. His participation was invaluable.
Walter Collins has been a wonderful partner of of the Mathew Forbes Romer Foundation (MFRF) from the early years through the celebration of the MFRF 5th and 10th anniversary extravaganzas. Walter Collins is creative force who has repeatedly out-done himself with videos for our organization that poignantly share the hardship and despair of our affected children and families, then transition to higher power tribute to the accomplishments of our Foundation, and culminate with honoring major leaders who support our mission. Further more, Walter tells the stories that truly connect with our audiences and have touched so many lives. We have raised over $1.5 Million and Walter Collins has contributed significantly to our success.

I have known Walter for more than 25 years and in that time he has edited numerous projects for me. Including long format television projects: “Doubles” and “Private Moments” and numerous national/regional commercials. After becoming Producing Artistic Director of GableStage, Walter continued to be a great asset on videos I needed for various plays. In 2006 he shot and edited an in depth behind the scenes documentary of our season opening play “Fahrenheit 451”, which aired on PBS stations throughout Florida. I could not have been happier with the way he conducted himself during rehearsals and everyone involved in the production were delighted with the documentary turned out.

Whatever your production needs might be, count on Walter Collins to get it right the first time. His extensive background in producing and post production in films, TV shows, industrials and commercials make him the rarest of resources--a top talent who can handle a project unsupervised from concept through delivery, whether it's a complex location shoot around the country or a studio commercial that needs to be done yesterday, with an unfailingly businesslike attitude and a great personality that makes him fun to work with under the most challenging conditions.

As a motion picture and television sound mixer and production manager I have worked beside and for Walter for more than 20 years. He has always impressed me as a dedicated and talented director/editor to the point that I have recommended many of my own clients to him for his services with not one disappointment. Walter is a gifted story teller and I have sat beside him during some very difficult productions where he has tenaciously endeavored to bring a story to life.Walter has my full respect and vigorous endorsement.

“When it comes to getting the job done right, without any hassles, I hire Walter Collins. Bottom line: not only has he helped me keep my current clients happy, he has actually provided me with more business.
Walter’s vast experience, solvency, professional and pleasant demeanor always make him my go-to guy.
Whether the demand is extensive video editing (in the studio or field), supervision on a documentary, or just solid video production services from any angle, I can always count on Walter to produce the desired results. I highly recommend him for any project from a corporate video to a full documentary and anything in between. If he can’t do the job himself, he has the sources and know how to pool whatever you need to get the job completed effectively…..on the first shot!! Besides all this, he is just a great guy…. very service oriented and always has time for his customers. In this case, me. a very happy client.”

The Silver Tour
"Should Grandma Smoke Pot?"
I had a ton of footage from my live Silver Tour shows and piles of great medical clips and press interviews. I quickly realized, at a minimum, I would need a first class editor. I put the word out to my many friends in the film industry and one name kept coming back. Get Walter J. Collins!
Walter was the best thing that happen to me and my project, "Should Grandma Smoke Pot?". He quickly took charge and created a video example of what the finished show should look like. He organized the clips, told me what was usable and what would have to be reshot. He and his talented wife Maritza, organized the shoots, ran camera and sound, and eventually handed me a finished show so far above my expectations, that I felt compelled to see that he got credit as Co-producer. Walter and Maritza were very much my partners in producing "Should Grandma Smoke Pot?".
The show was so excellent, that the chief counsel of one of the biggest broadcast groups, said he had never seen an "issues show" done so well and with such class.
